National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Tournament
National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Tournament
   Home      About us

My name is Bill Malovrh. I am a Career Firefighter for Mentor, Ohio IAFF L1845 for 27 years. Many of you know me as the pitcher for Metro Cleveland Firefighters. I've participated in firefighter tournaments since 1998, and our team has attended the National Fallen Firefighters Tournament in Las Vegas since 2002.

For the last 9 years I've run a firefighter memorial tournament in Mentor, Ohio. In recent years there has been feedback on the Vegas tournament and ideas of how to make the tournament better, I've seen these emails and decided to start a new tournament with many of your ideas built in. This tournament is a firefighter tournament, run by firefighters. I will be the Director of the tournament.

My goals were simple, to get us together at one complex, provide awards that have meaning, post results timely, not settle for status quo and most importantly, raise money for the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation and the IAFF Fallen Firefighters Memorial in Colorado Springs, Colorado. My objectives for this tournament are to be open to change, to provide transparency, and to keep the lines of communications open at all times. In closing, I hope you'll consider attending this tournament, teams that we have lost in the past years, I hope you'll return, you won't be disappointed.

Fraternally, Bill
